Library and Museum DI&A: Accessibility

Navigation system for the blind and vision impaired

                  Computer-Aided Navigation Presentation

In October Mehmet Üneş, an expert on accessibility technologies for the visually impaired, visited Mines in additon to delivering multiple presentations across the metro area. In consultation with Mehmet, we identified three key opportunities to advance accessibility for the visually impaired at the library and museum:

1.       Implement indoor navigation system for the blind and visually impaired

2.       Develop a dedicated space for accessibility technologies in the library

3.       Assess and improve the accessibility of the library’s digital presence
