The Circulation desk has a new desktop kiosk where students can independently make reservations for gadgets and study rooms. They can also make reservations via mobile devices.
In June 2022, in collaboration with Mines Environmental Health & Safety, Mines Museum installed ADA compliant, hand tap switches at our lower level entrance that allows visitors in wheelchairs to easily enter and exit the lower level of the museum.
We are proud to announce that a wheelchair is now available upon request to accommodate guests with mobility issues, improving accessibility in our exhibit spaces.
Our newest exhibit, "Destination Niobrara,” was designed with lowered handrail components and screens and the exhibit video was created with closed captioning to accommodate the hearing impaired.
Mines Museum continues to make improvements to its lower level by removing and relocating exhibits as necessary to create wider pass-throughs for guests in wheelchairs.
The library's Digital User Experience Group has been steadily evaluating all library web platforms, including the website, research guides, and inter-library loan systems, for compliance with Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), and introducing recommended improvements.
Effective Fall 2020, the west ramp entrance to the library is now fully accessible and BlasterCard enabled:
