Bly for examples, and go to the Writing Center for help!

Technical writing should

•Aim to educate and inform
•Be objective
•Be geared to a specific audience
•Use formal language
•Be systematic and sequential
•Be concise
•Use an active voice

Technical writing should not:

•Express opinions

•Aim to entertain
•Be ambiguous
•Use a passive voice
