Clearing the Cache

One of the most common, and most effective ways, to correct problems with online library resources.

Clearing the Cache: Microsoft Edge

Here's how to clear your browsing data in Microsoft Edge:

  1. Go to the three dots in the upper right hand corner.

  2. Select Settings  >  Privacy, search, and services .

  3. Under Clear browsing data, select Choose what to clear.

  4. Choose a time range from the Time range drop-down menu.

  5. Choose the types of data you want to clear (see this table at Microsoft for descriptions). For example, you may want to remove browsing history and cookies but keep passwords and form fill data.

  6. Select Clear now.

Clearing the Cache: Internet Explorer

Delete your browsing history

Regularly deleting your browsing history helps protect your privacy, especially if you're using a shared or public PC.

  1. In Internet Explorer, select the Tools (Gears) button at the top right of the browser.

  2. Point to Safety, and then select Delete browsing history.

  3. Choose the types of data or files you want to remove from your computer, and then select Delete.
