LaTeX: Introduction to LaTeX

Introduction to working with LaTaX

About LaTeX

LaTeX

LaTeX is a document preparation system. It helps eliminate formatting concerns while you write and creates beautiful documents.

We suggest taking advantage of using a web editor for LaTeX. OverLeaf provides templates for various document formats and real-time comparison between your code and the document output. Authorea is another LaTex web editor that supports rich-text and Markdown in the same document. Alternatively, desktop software is available for LaTeX, such as TeXWorks. This guide gives more information on choosing a LaTeX compiler.

HOW TO PRONOUNCE LATEX

LaTeX is pronounced LAY-tek or LAH-tek, not latex!
